2) Perché avete scelto questo monicker, "Maligno"?
In spagnolo ha lo stesso significato che in italiano, lo abbiamo scelto perché si abbina bene con il nostro genere di musica pesante.
3) Ho visto che avete realizzato già parecchi album, ma io ho sentito solo "The Funeral Domine". Potete parlarci della vostra biografia e di questo album? Suono molto '70s...
Certamente; stiamo celebrando in quest'anno il nostro decimo anniversario come Maligno con i nostri album
"Maligno/maligno" 2006, "Universevil" 2008, "The funeral domine" 2011, e "Mundo ciego", il nostro ultimo album.
"The funeral domine" è un concept, sull'avarizia, il potere e le conseguenze di questo falso ego, che ci riguarda. è l'album più pesante mai rilasciato dalla band; gli altri sono più sul Doom ma in questo c'è più pesantezza e velocità e abbiamo collaborato con
Alex Sckolnick dei Testament in "The song Solstice" e con Rodrigo and Gabriela in "The song Coffin of dreams".

4) La copertina è stupenda! Quella donna nuda e sexy che siede su un trono, con quella luce, come un'aureola, attorno alla testa...
Perché avete usato questa immagine? e che significato ha il titolo?
"The Funeral Domine" significa "Il Signore del funerale". Ma sulla copertina, noi vediamo una donna, che sembra una Dea.
Perché allora avete scelto la forma latina per Signore (Domine) e non la forma latina femminile (Domina o Dea)? Di che genere di "Signore" parlate?
Il Diavolo veste Prada, ah ah ah, il male ha differenti modi di manifestarsi, e amiamo questa cover, è classica e oscura.
5) Che argomenti trattate nei testi?
Bhè, tutto ciò che accade in questo mondo è abbastanza per parlarne, tutto il male nella nostra società e le ingiustizie che viviamo ogni giorno e ovunque.
6) Avete già suonato dal vivo?
Certo, sin dal primo giorno, un sacco di date live in Messico e USA.
Abbiamo avuto la fortuna di aprire per band come Metallica, Guns and roses, Iron Maiden, Megadeth etc. etc., siamo stati fortunati e abbiamo molti fans speciali sia in Messico che in America Latina.
7) Venite dal Messico. Ho ascoltato alcune band Black Metal
ma prima di voi, nessuna band Doom. Come vanno le cose nella scena Doom Metal messicana?
Ci sono poche buone band, ma sopratutto nella scena
Stoner Doom, come i Black over drive e la scena diventa più grande di giorno in giorno.

2) Why have you chosen this monicker, "Maligno"? In italian language "Maligno" means "Evil", "Devil"...
In spanish means the same and we choose that name because it fits very well with our kind of heavy music
3) I have seen that you have released some albums, but I have listened expecially "The Funeral Domine". Can you speak about you music history and about this album? It sounds very '70s, in some fragments...
Sure we are celebrating these year our 10th anniversary as maligno with four Studio albums "Maligno/maligno" 2006 "Universevil" 2008 "The funeral domine" 2011 and "Mundo ciego" our last album.
"The funeral domine" is a conceptual album, its an entire story about greed, power and the consecuences of that kind of false ego and for us; its the most heavy album from the band; the others are most like stoner Doom but in this one its MORE heavy and faster and we have a collaboration from Alex Sckolnick from Testament in "The song Solstice" and the great collaboration of Rodrigo and Gabriela in "The song Coffin of dreams".

4) The cover artwork is amazing! That sexy nude woman sitting in a throne with that light all over her head... Why have you used this kind of image? And the meaning of the title? "The Funeral Domine" means "The Lord of the funeral". But on the cover artwork we see a woman (seems like a Goddess).
Why have you used the male latin form ("Domine", Lord) and not the female latin name (Dea)? Who is the Lord you are talking about?

And we really love this cover, it's very Classic and dark
5) Which are the argoments do you like to write in your lyrics?
Well everything that happens in the world it's enough to talk about all the evil in our society all the injustices all that crap that we live everyday and everywhere
6) Have you already played live?
Sure since day one a lot of tours in Mexico and USA
We had the fortune to be the opening act for bands as Metallica, Guns and roses, Iron Maiden, Megadeth etc. etc., we are so lucky and have a lot of fans special from México and latín América as well.
7) You are from Mexico. I have listened some Black Metal bands from Mexico, but before listening you I have not seen others Doom bands from Mexico. How is the Doom scene in Mexico?
There's a few good bands but most in the Stoner Doom scene such as Black over drive and the scene it's gettin bigger everyday.
