Il mio nome è Victor Morozov, e sono il chitarrista e fondatore degli Scarleth. Sono felice di parlare con voi! :)
2) Scarleth: il vostro monicker è molto espressivo, ed è perfetto per la vostra musica. Esprime molto bene la potenza e la tragicità del vostro sound; il rosso scarlatto è un colore dai molteplici significati: amore, passione, sangue...
Grazie per l'apprezzamento! Sì, ci piaceva questo nome anche perchè è semplice,è facile da ricordare e pronunciare. Penso che i fans, ai concerti, siano più felici di urlare un nome semplice, invece di un nome lungo e complicato :)
Comunque, Scarleth è anche un nome femminile, e serve ad indicare che abbiamo una female vocalist.
3) Suonate un Symphonic Power Metal, molto potente, e con influenze classiche: le linee di chitarra sono potenti, così come la batteria, gli elementi operistici e classici, (persino orientali! un esempio è "Flaming Angel", che suono molto "antico Egitto"!), e anche le female vocals sono alte ed espressive; qualche volta date spazio a un'atmosfera oscura e malinconica("Black Tears"); C'è anche un po' di Progressive, per esempio in "Child of the Forest". Sei d'accordo, con questa mia opinione? In Italia per un periodo abbiamo avuto alcune band che si dilettavano in questo genere, con elementi medioevali od operistici. Forse Rhapsody of Fire e Domine sono i nomi più famosi.
Sì, sono d'accordo con te. Stiamo cercando di non limitarci a un genere preciso o a stili che potrebbero ingabbiarci, così componiamo le nostre canzoni con un solo obiettivo in testa - renderle belle, memorabili ed espressive.
4) Su YouTube è possibile vedere i vostri video:"Break the silence" è il vostro cd. è un concept? Puoi descrivercelo, parlandoci anche delle lyrics?
La copertina mostra una visione quasi apocalittica: un enorme campana, decorata con una testa mostruosa, quella di Medusa, e alcuni teschi. Tutto intorno, fuoco e pietre spezzate. Che significato ha?
"Break the Silence" non ha un vero concept, dietro, come se fosse una storia che va ad allacciarsi a tutte le altre canzoni, o qualcosa del genere. Ma è un titolo cool per riflettere il fatto che è il nostro prima debut album e abbiamo fatto del nostro meglio quando lo abbiamo realizzato e prodotto. Comunque, "Break the silence", come frase, è presente in "Black Tears" e "Shadow fades away", e quindi le collega un po'.
Ci piaceva l'idea di non nominare l'album con il titolo di una delle tracks, come solitamente si fa.
Per quanto riguarda la copertina, la campana con i teschi rappresenta qualcosa di malvagio che ha intrappolato tutti i suoni del mondo, dentro se stessa, e ogni cosa sta morendo nel silenzio più totale, fino a che la campana non venga effettivamente rotta. L'artwork rappresenta il momento in cui la campana è finalmente distrutta, con un enorme suono, che rappresenta il suono dell'Heavy Metal come il nostro. Il contrasto tra il silenzio totale e il fracasso è quello che puoi sperimentare quando inserisci il nostro cd nello stereo e premi il bottone "play" :) Spezzerai il silenzio!
5) Puoi parlarci della scena Metal/Rock del tuo paese, l'Ucraina?
Sono molto curiosa! Ci sono molte band estreme, nella scena Black/Death.
Puoi suggerirci qualche band? Tempo fa avevo sentito una bella band, i Seahorse.
Ci sono molte buone band in Ucraina. Per fare un nome: Jinjer - una band molto attiva ed ambiziosa! Sfortunatamente, il music business non è molto evoluto, così non ci sono molte opportunità per le band locali di accedere ad un livello professionale. Non abbiamo molti festivals, rock clubs o agenzie di booking qui in Ucraina. Molti dei concerti e degli show sono organizzati dalle stesse band. Questo è il motivo per il quale stiamo cercando di andare in Europa, ne saremmo veramente felici. Così se ci puoi suggerire una buona agenzia di booking o qualche festival, te ne saremmo davvero riconoscenti!
6) Sul vostro canale ci sono dei video live; così avete già suonato dal vivo. Ma in Europa non ancora...
No, non abbiamo ancora suonato in Europa. Questo è il nostro obiettivo principale, ora. Il prossimo è registrare il nostro nuovo cd. Stiamo lavorando duro, sul nuovo materiale.

Thank you! Yes, we also like our name because it is simple, it's easy to remember and to pronounce. I think fans are more happy when they are shouting a simple name at the concert instead of quite long and complicated one :)))
By the way, "Scarleth" is a female name also, which hints that we have a female vocalist.
3) You play a Symphonic Power Metal, full of power and classical influences: the mighty riffs and the drums, the operistic and classic elements, (or oriental! an example "Flaming Angel" sounds like an ancient egyptian/oriental ballad!) the female vocals, high and expressive, and sometimes, the dark and melancholy mood ("Black Tears");There is a bit trace of progressive mood, too, for example in "Child of the Forest". Are you agree, with my opinion? In Italy we have had a lots of bands who played this kind of Metal, with medieval or operistic elements. Maybe Rhapsody of Fire and Domine were the most famous.
Yes, I agree with you. We are trying not to limit ourselves by some strict genre or style borders, so we compose our songs with just one goal in mind - to make it sound good, memorable and expressive.
4) On YouTube we can see your videos; so, "Break the silence" is your album. Is it a concept? Can you speak about it and its lyrics? The cover artwork shows an apocalyptic vision: a strange bell, decorated with the Medusa's head, and some skulls. Fire and break stones, all around. What is the meaning?
"Break The Silence" doesn't have a real concept behind it, like a story that is going through all the songs or something like that. But it's cool title to reflect the fact that it is our debut album and we were doing our very best at the time when we were recording and producing it. By the way, "Break The Silence" phrase is there in the lyrics of "Black Tears" and "Shadow Fades Away" which connects everything together a little bit too. We like the idea not to name the album after one of the songs like every band is doing usually. Now about the artwork. The bell with skulls represents something evil which has trapped all the sounds of the whole world inside itself, so everything is dying in total silence while the bell isn't broken. The artwork impictures the moment when the bell is finally down, it makes huge crashing sound, which represents the sound of heavy metal music like ours. Contrast between total silence and thundering crash is what you will experience when you insert the CD in your player and press the Play button :) You will break the silence!
5) Can you speak about the Metal/Rock scene from your country, Ukraine? I'm curious! I think there are a lots of Extreme bands too in Black and Death scene. So, can you tell something about Metal scene? Can you suggest others bands? Some time ago, I have listened a great band, Seahorse.
There are many good metal bands in Ukraine indeed. Jinjer is one of them - really active and ambitious band! Unfortunately, the music business isn't evolved much here, so there are not much opportunities for local bands to proceed to the professional level. We don't have many festivals, rock clubs or booking agencies here in Ukraine. Most of the shows and gigs are organized by the bands themselves. That is the reason why we are trying to make our way to the european countries, we will be really happy to perform in Europe. So, if you can suggest us a good booking agency or festival director from Europe to work with - we will be really thankful to you!
6) I have seen your live videos; so you have already play live in your country. And in the rest of the Europe?
No, we haven't played in Europe yet - that is one of our main goals right now. The one more is to record and release our next album. We are working hard on it's material right now.
